WSOC Shutout by Westcliff

Angwin, CALIFORNIA - The Lady Pioneers hosted Westcliff on October 6th after coming off of a 2-0 win against Soka University. Kickoff was at 3:30 PM PDT with clear skies and moderate temperatures.

The game against the Warriors and Pioneers was a very scrappy and physical game with both sides showing their desire for a win. For the first 20 minutes of the game, it was very back and-forth with both sides having time on the ball. Though Westcliff would break through first in the 21st minute with a goal from Warrior player Thea Sofia Kanestrom. 3 minutes later in the 24th minutes, Westcliff would score again with a goal from Angelina Espinal.

In the 2nd half the Pioneers would go head-to-head with both teams recording shot attempts. After the stalemate in the 2nd half, Warrior player Angelina Espinal would break the deadlock for her 2nd goal of the game to make it 3-0. The match would finish 3-0. 3 yellow cards were given out, as well as a red card for Westcliff player Nelly Galeana and Pioneer Verenia Gonzalez.

The Lady Pioneers will host Saint Katherine on October 13th in another CalPac matchup. Kickoff is at 2:30 PM PDT.
