Pacific Union College Adds Three More to Women’s Volleyball Roster
The Pioneers extend a warm welcome to the next wave of recruits to the women's volleyball program for the 2025–26 season. The Pioneers have officially added Anaiya Thomas, Jaylyn Drennon, and Megan Chun, three players who each bring something different to the table and continue the momentum of a strong incoming class.
Anaiya Thomas: Defensive Boost Incoming
Hailing from Buckeye, Arizona, Anaiya Thomas joins the Pioneers as a six-rotation defensive specialist out of Youngker High School. During her 2024–25 senior season, she tallied 108 kills, 238 digs, and 18 aces, finishing with an impressive .338 hitting percentage — a testament to her all-around impact on the court.
Anaiya chose Pacific Union College after a campus visit that made a lasting impression:
"When it came to my decision about PUC, I made my judgment based on what I experienced when I visited the school and my own personal research. Everyone was extremely friendly, the environment was great, and I got a lot of good intel about the nursing program — which is what I'm attending while at PUC. My experience with Jack was extremely great as well; he was kind and welcoming, and getting experience on the court with him was amazing and refreshing. The distance from home is also not too far, so I knew Pacific Union was the school for me."
Anaiya's combination of athleticism and academic focus will make her a key contributor to the team culture and performance right away.
Jaylyn Drennon: A Talented Opposite from Florida
Joining the Pioneers from Florida is Jaylyn Drennon, a dynamic opposite hitter who brings length, power, and a competitive edge to the PUC front line. Jaylyn's decision to commit to Pacific Union College was shaped not only by the beauty of the campus, but also by the sense of belonging she felt during her visit:
"Choosing Pacific Union College felt like an easy decision for me. Unlike some of the other schools I visited, my trip to PUC was something special right from the start. Being from Florida, I don't get to experience views like that every day — the scenery completely took my breath away, and I was in love with the campus from the moment I arrived. What really sealed it for me, though, was getting to meet some of the girls on the team, playing a little bit, and spending time with Coach. Everyone made me feel welcomed and supported right away. It was the kind of environment I could truly see myself growing in — both on and off the court."
Jaylyn's presence at the net and strong court awareness will give the Pioneers depth on offense and added versatility in their rotation. The coaching staff is excited to see how she develops throughout the season.
Megan Chun: State Champion Setter with Sky-High Goals
From Kapolei, Hawaiʻi, Megan Chun joins the Pioneers as a setter/opposite after a standout career at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, where she helped lead her team to the 2024 HHSAA Women's Volleyball State Championship. Megan brings not only championship-level experience, but also a strong sense of purpose in her academic journey:
"I chose PUC because they offer aviation as a major. I'll achieve all my certifications to fly commercial."
Chun's on-court vision and leadership, paired with her ambitious mindset off the court, make her a strong addition to the Pioneers' future. Her championship experience is expected to bring a valuable edge to the locker room and beyond.
More to Come
With Anaiya, Jaylyn, and Megan now in the mix, Pacific Union College continues to build momentum toward the 2025–26 season. These additions reflect the program's commitment to recruiting student-athletes who are not only talented on the court, but also driven in the classroom and in life.
