Lady Pioneers Conclude Season with Conference Honors

The Pacific Union College women's soccer team wrapped up its 2025 season, reaching the Cal Pac semifinals before falling 6-0 to the reigning champion Westcliff University Warriors.
Under the direction of Head Coach Hernan Granados, the Pioneers made significant strides this year, showcasing a young and determined roster that battled with heart throughout the campaign. Despite the semifinal setback, the team's growth and accomplishments signal a bright future for the program.
Freshman goalkeeper Avery Alves highlighted the postseason honors, earning recognition as the Cal Pac Freshman of the Year. Alves finished first in saves with a total of 42. In addition to Alves's standout season, several Lady Pioneers were recognized on the Cal Pac All-Conference Teams:
First Team All-Conference: Avery Alves (Freshman, Goalkeeper), Taylor Delgado (Freshman, Midfielder), and Ryann Van Horn (Junior, Defender)
Second Team All-Conference: Leylah Echeverria (Junior, Midfielder) and Rose Portillo (Freshman, Forward)
Honorable Mention: Jasmine Zapien (Freshman, Midfielder)
The 2025 campaign reflected the continued development of PUC women's soccer under Coach Granados, who has emphasized discipline, teamwork, and growth on and off the field. With multiple all-conference honorees set to return next season the Lady Pioneers are well positioned to build on this year's foundation and take another step forward in 2026.
