Another Close One

Women's Basketball battles against Southern California Conference Opponents.

SOUTHERN CALIF. - Women's Basketball (0-20; 0-10 Cal Pac) bounces back from a tough loss to the University of Antelope Valley (18-4; 9-1 Cal Pac) to throw the game into overtime against fellow Seventh-Day Adventist Conference opponent, La Sierra University (15-10, 6-4 Cal Pac).

UNIVERSITY OF ANTELOPE VALLEY

Much like their previous games, it was a slow start for the (PUC) Pioneers, only recording 16 points in the first half. The second-half was where the team began to catch an offensive wave.

Jasmine Peete (SO/Riverside, CA) led the Pioneers in scoring with 18 points. While roommate/teammate Olivia Crigler (FR/Hebron, KY) was perfect from the Charity Stripe (6-6).

Huei-Anh Spencer (SR/San Francisco, CA) was on both ends of the floor with game-highs 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY

Seeking their first win of the year, the Pioneers were led by Sophomore, Jasmine Peete who shattered the Women's Basketball Single-Game Scoring Record that she previously set this season with 41 points. Jasmine also recorded her 8th double-double of the season with 17 rebounds.

With their highest point total of the season, two other pioneers also clinched double-digits in the overtime loss. Freshmen Olivia Crigler and Kayla Yasukawa (FR/San Francisco, CA) recorded 13 points and 10 points respectively.

Venus Miari Pascua (SO/Daly City, CA) (6), Samantha Foong (FR/San Francisco, CA) (5), Elissa Root (SR/Ventura, CA) (4), Alexus Genochio (SO/Rodeo, CA) (3), Jasmine Peete (3) and Olivia Crigler (3) recorded 3 or more assists for the game.
