MSOC Senior Night vs UC Merced

Angwin, CALIFORNIA - The Pioneers hosted UC Merced for the last home game of the season on October 27th, as well as it was senior day for seniors Daniel Castro and Jacob Jaimes. Kickoff was at 1:00 PM PDT with partly cloudy skies and a good 75 degrees.

The Bobcats came out strong as they had multiple shots on target in the first 10 minutes of the game, both saved by Pioneer goalkeeper Jake Hendricks. The Bobcats were able to get their first goal in the 25th minute by UC Merced player Marcos Ceballos, which came from a bicycle kick attempt from Andres Lua which was saved by Jake Hendricks. The Pioneers would respond right away with a goal from William Biondini by dribbling past the last 2 defenders and the keeper before shooting on an empty net; also assisted by Issay Bravo. The 1st half would end 1-1 with a close game between both teams.

The Bobcats would strike first with a goal from Merced player Marcos Ceballos for his 2nd of the game. The game would go back and forth with many shot attempts from both teams. Merced would eventually make it 3-1 with a penalty kick from Andres Lua. Both teams had many choices as the game closed down but unfortunately, the match would finish 3-1 in favor of UC Merced. As it was a very physical game, 9 yellow cards, and a red card was handed out to UC Merced player Xavier Barajas.

The Pioneers will travel to Redding to play Simpson in the last game of the season against the Simpson Redhawks. Kickoff will be at 2:30PDT.
