Seniors Pressed for More Time
Men's Basketball Seniors were reluctant to end their final game as a Pioneer, forcing the game into Overtime for five more minutes.
ANGWIN, Calif. - Men's Basketball (10-15; 7-7 Cal Pac) defeated Embry-Riddle (AZ) (9-16; 4-10 Cal Pac) in honor of their five Seniors: 10- DeMario Newman (SR/Rancho Cordova, CA), 11- De'Rajaee Austin (SR/Vallejo, CA), 13 -Marc Williams (SR/Vallejo, CA), 25- Joshua Mitchell (SR/South Bronx, NY), and 33- Tim Ford (SR/Los Angeles, CA).
In their second overtime of the week, the Seniors looked to continue to play the game they all love. Even if it was for just another five minutes.
In the victory, it was all about the Seniors on Senior Night, as four of the five seniors recording double-digits including two career-high performances.
Marc Williams led the Seniors with a career-high 32 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.
Followed closely behind was De'Rajaee Austin with a double-double and career-high 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Tim Ford enters the Pioneers Statistics Leaderboard as he ties Assistant Coach, Jordan Greenwell, and Alumnus Barrett Benson for double-doubles in a season with 10 total.
The last senior to clinch double-digits was Joshua Mitchell with 10 points.
With this win, the Men's Basketball team concludes the 2019-2020 Season.
