Men's Basketball goes 1-1 in Southern California against the University of Antelope Valley and La Sierra University.

SOUTHERN CALIF. - Men's Basketball (8-13; 5-5 Cal Pac) traveled to Southern California to battle against the Top California Pacific Conference Opponent the University of Antelope Valley (20-4; 10-0 Cal Pac) and Fellow Seventh-Day Adventist Rival La Sierra University (4-21; 0-10 Cal Pac).

UNIVERSITY OF ANTELOPE VALLEY -

Jitters appeared to have perplexed the men's basketball team, as they began the game on a slow note. They would catch momentum in the second half, outscoring the (UAV) Pioneers 35-30. The second-half surge was not enough to upset the top contender.

Leading the Pioneers offensively was Guard, Chris Jones (JR/Augusta, GA) with 20 points, 9 of his 20 were from the charity stripe. Followed by 13 points by Victor Wariso (JR/Sacramento, CA) and 10 points by De'Rajaee Austin (SR/Vallejo, CA).

Other notables, Malik Skillern (JR/Long Beach, CA) shelled out 3 assists for the contest and Tim Ford (SR/Los Angeles, CA) grabbed 8 rebounds.

LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY -

Washing away the tough loss, the Pioneers entered the Rivalry Game with a chip on their shoulders. A strong second-half rose them over the Golden Eagles.

Four Pioneers recorded double-digits in the 87-77 win.

Tim Ford clinched his 8th double-double on the season with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Chris Jones continued his consistent scoring with 18 points, making this his third 18+ point game in a row.

Marc Williams (SR/Vallejo, CA) also contributed 16 points, as well as 12 points from Isaiah McCullough (JR/Chino Hills, CA).

Marc Williams and De'Rajaee Austin dished out 4 assists apiece as well.

With their vision set on the Conference Tournament, The Pioneers will bring the action back to the Covered Wagon hosting California State University, Maritime Academy on Thursday, February 13th at 7:30 PM.
