Brittany Brown, head women's volleyball coach and the Pioneers Athletic Department are happy to announce the signing of Sarah Cusick to the 2012-13 recruiting class. Cusick is a 5'10 outside hitter out of Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, CA. Sarah was a multi-sport athlete (basketball and soccer) in high school, but will focus her attention on volleyball as she prepares to begin her collegiate degree.
Cal Pac Commissioner Don Ott announced the 2011 women's volleyball All Conference teams today. The Pioneers' lone senior, Casey Miller was named to the 1st Team All-Conference group. Joining her teammate in receiving postseason recognition was junior middle hitter Calai Brown. Brown shares the honor of being named Newcomer of the Year with Camille Miller from Menlo College.
It was senior night, on Saturday, for the Pioneers, as they faced off against fellow conference member Simpson University. The Pioneers were looking to send off two of their leaders, Casey Miller and Brita Widmer, in style. After a touching ceremony before the game to commemorate their great Pioneers Athletics careers, they went down swinging. Unfortunately for the Pioneers, they fell to Simpson in four sets (13-25, 13-25, 27-25, 25-18).
