ANGWIN, Calif. - Men's Soccer welcomes their second signed recruit, incoming freshman and center back, Giovani De La Torre.
Giovani De La Torre, raised in Los Angeles, Calif. is finishing up his senior year at South Gate High School. De La Torre has been an active soccer player since he was six years old, competing at the varsity level in high school, and three years at California Rush Azul Soccer Club. During his high school career De La Torree led his team to a first place finish in the Fresno Harold S. Young Tournament (2014), South East Winter Classic (2015), and the Locke Winter Classic (2016). He competed in top club tournaments including California Rush, The Las Vegas Showcase (2015) and the National Cup (2015).
"Geo is a very good student-athlete who takes both his school work and soccer very seriously. He shows great leadership qualities which is a model for a champion of character," states Head Coach Archie Asare on his recent signee.
"Giovanni is an outstanding student-athlete who possess great leadership skills. He is very coachable and always gives his best. While at Pacific Union College, De La Torre plans to major in Business Administration. Off the court he is an active leader with today's soccer youth, including helping coach a U17 soccer team.
Giovani De La Torre comments, "I am a true believer of God, who has strengthen me to become the individual that I am today."
