ANGWIN, Calif.- In the second to last home game of the season the Lady Pioneers geared up to face University of Antelope Valley. Hoping to avenge their previous blow-out loss against UAV this season, the Pioneers would have to play a phenomenal game. Despite thier best efforts the Pioneers fell to UAV, 55-92.
The first quarter concluded roughly for the Pioneers as UAV took the momentum, however, the Pioneers were able to match UAV's 22 points with 19 in the second quarter. By halftime the Pioneers were down by 18 points, 47-29.
Returning from the break the Pioneers continued to find their rhythm rebounding and sinking shots. Unfortunately for the Pioneers, UAV turned it up a notch in the fourth quarter taking complete control of the game and winning 55-92.
UAV's Daziah Pounds led for the night with a game-high 25 points. Also contributing to their win was Aujunay Chambers who put up a solid 18 points, two assists, and four rebounds.
For the Pioneers, Alexis Lyers (SR/Upper Marlboro, MD) led with 16 points, while both Imari Clinton (FR/Mill Creek, WA) and Natalya Stepanchuk (JR/North Highlands, CA) added 13 points each. The Pioneers look forward to their last home game of the season where they will recognize their lone senior Alexis Lyers against La Sierra University.
